Catherine is a Professor of Entomology at Purdue University. She was part of an internationally recognised medical entomology research program focusing on the biology and control of arthropod vectors (e.g., mosquitoes, sand flies and ticks) that transmit diseases to humans and animals.
Together with collaborators, she created the Purdue Insecticide Discovery Pipeline (PIDP) that employs an innovative, target-based approach for the discovery and development of novel mode of action insecticides that have limited effects on non-pest species.
She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the President’s Fellow for the Life Sciences, and is a Showalter Faculty Scholar.
